TMS Therapy

At Mental Health & Wellness, we’re proud to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a cutting-edge, non-invasive brain stimulation therapy designed to help individuals struggling with depressive disorders and more. Our clinic is unique to others in the state in that TMS treatments are primarily administered by the same dedicated provider, ensuring a high level of personalized care.

What is TMS? Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a revolutionary approach to mental health. Using an MRI-strength magnet, TMS targets underactive areas of the brain to enhance activity and blood flow, promoting long-term improvements in mood and cognitive function. TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. Over several weeks, this treatment helps build “muscle memory” in the brain, fostering lasting benefits. TMS helps stimulate nerve cells in specific brain regions associated with mood regulation.

Expert Care: Trevor Gee, our dedicated TMS intake coordinator and provider, performs all TMS treatments. Unlike other clinics where treatments are administered by technicians, Trevor ensures that every session is overseen by a highly skilled professional.

FDA Approved: TMS is FDA-approved for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as well as alcohol and nicotine addiction. TMS is specifically designed to treat depression, particularly for patients who have not responded to traditional treatments. It is also the only FDA-approved non-invasive, non-drug treatment for adolescents aged 15 and up, recommended as a first-line treatment before medication.

Personalized Treatment: TMS can be tailored to your specific needs, and we offer composite protocols at no additional charge. Off-label use is also available for conditions such as anxiety and ADHD.

  • High Response Rate: TMS has a 70-80% response rate, with 60-70% achieving full remission from depressive symptoms.
  • Minimal Side Effects: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation boasts the lowest side-effect profile of any treatment option, with virtually no side effects reported.

“For over two decades, I battled a deep, relentless depression that seemed impossible to overcome. Despite trying countless treatments, nothing provided lasting relief. It felt like I was trapped in a dark tunnel with no end in sight. Then, I discovered Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy. I was skeptical at first—how could something so non-invasive make a difference when everything else had failed?

But as the sessions progressed, I began to notice subtle changes. The fog that had clouded my thoughts for so long started to lift. I found myself experiencing moments of clarity and even joy—feelings that had been absent from my life for years. It wasn’t an overnight transformation, but slowly, the weight of my depression began to lessen.”
TMS therapy gave me something I hadn’t felt in a long time: hope. It reached the parts of my brain that traditional treatments couldn’t touch, offering me a new lease on life. Today, I can confidently say that TMS therapy saved my life. It pulled me out of the abyss and gave me the strength to rebuild my life, piece by piece.
TMS is the treatment that saved my life and inspired me to become a Psychiatric Provider. It is more than a simple treatment to me; it’s so much more than that. It’s a lifeline, and I’m dedicated to extending that lifeline to all struggling with a mental health battle. We can utilize TMS not just to treat depression, but also anxiety, OCD, and so much more. If you or someone you know could use the lifeline that TMS therapy can provide, reach out to us at Mental Health of Utah to learn more.
