David embarked on his nursing journey at Utah Tech University; where he not only completed his undergraduate studies but also had the incredible opportunity to work in residential treatment with amazing adolescents. Witnessing their resilience and learning about trauma-informed care ignited David’s passion for understanding and addressing the unique needs of this population.
Driven by his thirst for knowledge, David pursued a Master of Science degree in Nursing at the prestigious Duke University. There, he specialized as a Family Nurse Practitioner as well as in Pediatric Behavioral and Mental Health, an area close to my heart. Duke’s reputation as one of the highest-ranked nursing schools, combined with its unique focus on this specialty, made it the perfect fit for my educational journey. Continuing my pursuit of knowledge, David is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at Duke, with an expected completion date in Spring 2024.
In his practice, David genuinely enjoys working with individuals from all walks of life, but has a natural affinity for children and adolescents. Assisting this population in overcoming struggles with depression, ADHD, anxiety, and various disorders brings me immense fulfillment. David firmly believes in taking a holistic approach, considering not only medication but also addressing their day-to-day needs and exploring any physiological factors that may impact their psychological well-being.
When David is not immersed in work, my absolute favorite thing to do is spend quality time with my three amazing girls—they are my world. Oh, and let’s not forget his unwavering dedication to the Duke Blue Devils! As a passionate fan, you’ll often find me cheering on Duke football, basketball, and lacrosse.
